A PW permit, is the equivalent of Harbour Dues that other recreational vessel pays, it signifies the Harbour Master's written permission to operate within the harbour.
The PWC must be datatagged and the datatag must be clearly visible on the port and starboard side of the bow.
No one under 16 years old may ride a PWC in Poole Harbour unless they are under the direct supervision of a permit holder, or hold the RYA PWC Proficiency Certificate.
PWC (jetski) Zone
PWC have a zone north of Brownsea Island (see location information HERE) where the harbour speed limits do not apply, however this still must must account for 'safe speed' and caution / due regard for other harbour users. This is the ONLY place within Poole Harbour where the speed limits do not apply to PWC.
You may be stopped by a member of PHC staff or one of their fleet to check evidence of holding a valid PWC permit.
